On Friday, November 18th, from 5pm-7pm, Belle Terre Elementary School is holding the Thanksgiving Gobble Get Down. This is a chance for all students at BTES from Pre-K to 6th grade to participate in a fun dance and support their school. All entrance fee and concession funds go towards improving the school’s education.
The Gobble Get Down is a PTO sponsored dance that raises funds for the school. All students from Belle Terre Elementary School who attend this event must pay a $5 entrance fee. Mrs. Jennifer Harris, president of the PTO, stated, “All funds raised through the PTO, are used for items that the teachers and staff can further pupils educational experience.”
Dr. Terence Culver, the Principal of BTES mentioned, “This money goes to back to help support events for students at the school. Such as field studies, classroom materials, etc.”
The money that is raised goes towards purchasing items to support educational learning. Mrs. Harris further explained, “In essence, our mission is to support the school in raising funds to support educational programs that will enrich the school’s curriculum.”
If you intend to let your child attend the Gobble Get Down dance, Pre K-2nd graders will be in the cafeteria, and you must sign your child in and out. 3rd-6th graders will be in the multipurpose room, and make sure to pick up and drop off your child at the South Side car rider line. Concessions will also be available for an additional cost.
